Johansson: Scar-Jo label insulting

This Is Local London: Scarlett Johansson says she hates the nickname Scar-Jo Scarlett Johansson says she hates the nickname Scar-Jo

Scarlett Johansson has said that she finds the nickname "Scar-Jo" insulting because it makes her sound like a pop star.

The Captain America: The Winter Soldier actress said that she wasn't a fan of her shortened moniker and thought that it was a lazy way of saying her name.

According to the Daily Mail, she told Glamour magazine: "I associate that name with, like, pop stars. [It] sounds tacky. It's lazy and flippant...There's something insulting about it."

Scarlett also complained that she thought there was sexism in some of the questions she is regularly asked.

She said: "Actresses get stupid questions asked of them all the time, like, 'How do you stay sexy?' or 'What's your sexiest quality?' All these ridiculous things you would never ask a man."

Her final gripe was about not being recognised for all of the work she has done since her first hit film, Lost In Translation.

She complained: "When I made Lost In Translation, I was 17. Now I'm 29... That's a normal side effect of being a young actor.

"You're captured in a certain time of your life, and it's hard for people to move past that."
