Andy Serkis is to direct the upcoming Jungle Book film.
The Lord Of The Rings actor will make his feature directorial debut on the live-action movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.
He is taking over after filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
Ron Howard was also briefly linked as director.
The cast of the film has not been announced so it isn't known whether Hobbit star Andy might also have an acting role.
There are currently two big screen versions of Rudyard Kipling's classic tales in the pipeline, and Andy has signed up for Warner Bros' project.
The other film is being made by Disney and has Jon Favreau directing and Idris Elba voicing the tiger, Shere Khan.
