Selena Gomez has thanked her fans for their support throughout her rehab stint.

The Come And Get It singer completed her secret stay at the Dawn At The Meadows treatment centre in Arizona for two weeks in January.

"I've done everything I could to the best of my ability," she wrote on her Instagram account, with a photo of herself smiling on a boat.

"Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me," the 21-year-old added.

A spokesman for Selena previously said: "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."

Her admission came shortly after she cancelled the Australian and Asian leg of her Stars Dance tour.

Selena issued a statement through promoter Live Nation at the time saying that she needed to spend more time on "myself".

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," she said.

"But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologise and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me."
