RAF wife hopes for Voice success
The Voice is hoping it has found its very own Military Wife after Lucy Winter flew thousands of miles to take part in the hit singing show.
The 29-year-old lives in barracks in Cyprus with her husband Martin, who is in the RAF, and their young son Archie but came back to the UK in her quest for fame.
She said: "The audition today is a big deal for me. For a long time I felt like I was just Archie's mummy and Martin's wife, and I want to make sure that I know I have done everything in my power to make my dreams come true."
Her husband joked that the commute from the sunny island in the Mediterranean would be "tough", but he was "100% behind her".
He said: " I'm grateful to Lucy for her putting her dream on hold whilst I pursued my career and now it's time for her to pursue her dream again."
The Military Wives choir stormed to the top of the charts in Christmas 2011 after they were put together by G areth Malone for BBC2 programme The Choir which climaxed with the group performing at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Their single, Wherever You Are, outsold X Factor winners Little Mix by a margin of six to one and raised thousands of pounds for the Royal British Legion and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
