Phoenix for Batman-Superman movie?
Joaquin Phoenix is rumoured to be in talks to play Lex Luthor in the new Batman-Superman movie.
The as-yet-untitled film, directed by Man of Steel's Zack Snyder, will see Henry Cavill and Amy Adams return as Superman and Lois Lane and Ben Affleck take on the role of Batman.
Sources tell Variety that Warner Bros is eyeing Oscar-nominated actor Joaquin for a role in the movie, sparking rumours he could play the main villain, Lex Luthor.
But Variety added that talks are very early in the process and even if the Walk The Line star is offered the role, it's not clear he would accept as he has avoided blockbusters in recent years.
Jason Momoa and Callan Mulvey have been linked to the film but if cast they apparently wouldn't play the main villain.
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed Argo writer Chris Terrio has been brought in to write a draft of movie.
The Dark Knight's David Goyer wrote the screenplay but sources say it needs tweaking before shooting begins and he is tied up with other projects.
Chris has a strong relationship with the studio and the film's star Ben Affleck, who directed and starred in Oscar-winning film Argo, which won last year's best picture Oscar for Warners.
The film, which is due in cinemas in July 2015, already shot a few exterior scenes in the autumn, but principal photography doesn't begin until early next year in Michigan.
