Walsh: Arthur should be grateful
James Arthur should be more appreciative of his X Factor win, judge Louis Walsh has said.
The 25-year-old, who won the show in 2012, had to apologise publicly on stage for "abusing" his position as one of the show's winners, after putting down One Direction and being involved in a homophobia row.
Louis told OK!: "He's a competition winner that got lucky. He came from a little bedsit, he should be a lot more grateful and a lot more respectful to everybody. Don't get me going.
"Nicole worked so hard with him last year - she got him into the final. He doesn't look comfortable in his own skin. He has talent but he's not Bob Dylan."
The Irish judge added: "You can't be slagging off One Direction, you can't slag off success. I think they're good role models and show the pop business is alive and well."
Louis also revealed that he would consider staying on the show if Simon Cowell was to return to the judging panel.
"I haven't been asked and I don't know who's going back! The rumour is Simon, but I don't know," he said.
"I always have great fun with him - if Simon came back and wanted me, I'd talk to him, definitely. But I've had 10 amazing years. I've had a really good run."
Louis also revealed that there has been no tension on this year's panel, which includes Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and returning judge Sharon Osbourne.
"We've never had four people on The X Factor ever get on so well. There's no fighting this year - not even for airtime!" he added.
