Keating: I'd love X Factor job
Ronan Keating has revealed he would like the opportunity to be a judge on The X Factor in the UK.
With Gary Barlow set to step down after the current series of the ITV singing show, the Boyzone frontman said he wouldn't turn down the chance - if he was offered the job.
"Of course I'd do it, of course I would. But (there's) nothing at the moment happening there," he said.
Ronan - who hosted the Emeralds and Ivy Ball, which raises funds for Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation - admitted he is in discussions to reprise his judging role on the Australian version of the show, alongside Dannii Minogue, LMFAO's Redfoo and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.
"I'm in talks with them for my fifth season in Australia so we'll see what happens. It'd be great to be near the kids and be back in Europe, but I do love being in Sydney," added the 36-year-old singer.
His Boyzone bandmate Keith Duffy said Ronan would be a "great" addition to the UK X Factor.
"We've seen what he does out in Australia with The X Factor and he does a great job," he said.
"When he gets whatever group is given to him, he works with the artists, he supports them, and his constructive criticism is very accurate. For him, to continue doing that job is important. For him to do it in Britain, it would be better for him because his family live on this side of the globe and it's very difficult with family ties when you're in Australia.
"So it would be fantastic for his family, it would be fantastic for him and no doubt, we would probably see some of the benefits too as a band," the singer-actor added.
