Steve McQueen plans US TV drama
Steve McQueen is developing a New York-set TV drama, according to reports.
The Hollywood Reporter said that the British filmmaker, currently enjoying success with the movie 12 Years A Slave, is developing the drama for US cable network HBO.
It says the drama centres around an African-American man with a mysterious past, and his life in New York high society.
Hunger and Shame director Steve will direct if the pilot goes into production and is co-writing the drama with World War Z scribe Matthew Michael Carnahan.
The British director's latest film 12 Years A Slave, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Benedict Cumberbatch, is a drama based on the real-life tale of a man deceived and sold into slavery in mid-19th century America.
The film is a hotly tipped contender for the 2014 Oscars.
