Comedy actress Miranda Hart turned wedding planner as she was challenged with putting together a real-life marriage ceremony in a matter of hours.

The Call The Midwife star was given the task as part of her week of Comic Relief efforts which have seen her put together a dog show and perform a Strictly Come Dancing routine so far this week.

She was informed of her latest stunt during a broadcast on Radio when Chris Evans broke the news.

Hart responded: "A real wedding? I'm going to ruin it."

She has been entrusted with planning the entire event for Claire Gilchrist, 26, and fiance Ben Pringett, 28.

The marriage is the last event for her BT Red Nose Challenge: Miranda's Mad March, and she has been organising the dress, bridesmaids' outfits, flowers, readings and the rings, before a ceremony this afternoon.

Earlier in the week she tried and failed to set a new world record for waxing armpits, and danced a routine with Strictly's Pasha Kovalev, recreating a scene from hit movie Dirty Dancing.

They were all part of the Red Nose Day celebrations which are taking place throughout the day and will culminate with a lengthy charity broadcast on BBC1 and BBC2 this evening.
