Eddie Murphy tops 'overpaid' list

Eddie Murphy has been named Hollywood's most "overpaid" actor.

The Beverly Hills Cop star - who last year backed out of hosting the Oscars - came top of an annual list released by Forbes.

It estimates that for every dollar he was paid for his last three films, he returned just 2.30 dollars at the box office.

Eddie's recent films, Imagine That, A Thousand Words and Meet Dave were flops, while last year's Tower Heist didn't live up to its box office expectations, Forbes said.

Katherine Heigl, whose recent film One For The Money disappointed, is second on the list followed by Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock, with Jack Black in fifth place.

Eddie takes over from Drew Barrymore, who topped last year's list.
