Romans make Admirals pay price

Colchester Romans 40-32 Greenwich Admirals

GREENWICH Admirals failed to take advantage of the opportunities which came their way when they went down to defeat at the hands of Colchester Romans.

After taking an early lead through Craig Wooldridge the Admirals settled well into their game plan, but their opponents regained the initiative and three tries handed Colchester a 22-16 half-time advantage.

Colchester returned full of confidence and Grteenwich Admirals were soon chasing a 24 point deficit.

Captain Anthony Johnson and Sam Woods both had to come off with injuries, but tries from Darrell Keeling, Adam McCarthy and James Spark and the boot of Guy Adlam gave Greenwich hope with 10 minutes left.

However, it was not enough and they slipped to defeat.
