BECCEHAMIANS RFC U10s are celebrating after winning a prestigious competition.

Fourteen players from the club made up the squad which took part in the London Wasps EMC Community Cup.

The contest is an invitation competition with some of biggest clubs in the South of England where the final is played in front of a sell out crowd at Adams Park home of the London Wasps.

Beccehamians beat Oxford B (2-0) and Brandbarians (5-1), as well as drawing with London Wasps (0-0), to win their pool by one try on count back.

In the semi-finals they came from behind to beat Asford 2-1 thanks to James Lipka’s dramatic late try to book a final date with Oxford A at Adams Park.

There the boys formed part of the guard of honour with fellow finalist Oxford A for the big game between London Wasps v London Irish.

After a hard fought match, Wasps got there first win for quite a while.

Now it was time for the U10's Community Cup Final; Beccehamians v Oxford A.

Oxford came out very strong and scored inside two minutes, but Beccs defended well and held on until half-time.

After a moral boosting team talk, and with fresh legs on the field, Beccs equalised.

The battle continued with Beccs piling on the pressure until Liam Sullivan used all his strength and determination in the final minute to touch the ball down. Squad: Dominic Brooks, Evan Davies, Josh Ellis, James Lipka, Jacob McDonnell, Herb McPherson, Max Mouna, Luke Naylor, Olly Spain, Jack Simmons, Liam Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan, Harry Tucci and Ben Vaillant.
