Croydon's unbeaten welter-weight fighter Chas Symonds has revealed the date of his first fight since securing the British Masters title in September.

The 22-year-old is set to fight a non-title, six-round battle with an as yet unnamed opponent on the Matt Skelton undercard at Wembley Arena on Friday, February 25.

Symonds said: "We're looking around everywhere for a fight, I don't know what it is, we've approached Sammy Smith and Brett James, but no one wants to take it. It would be a big fight for them, but I suppose they don't want to get beat."

Rival Ross Minter will also be on the same bill, as the Crawley-based fighter wanted to have one more fight before he faces Symonds in either late March or early April.

On his rival, Symonds admits he will not speak to him when they fight on the same bill at Wembley Arena, but has a prediction on the outcome of the fight when they do eventually meet.

Symonds added: "I'll stop him in the seventh or eighth round."
