Promotion the goal for Bees

Brentford manager Andy Scott says the target for next season is to win promotion.

The Bees ended their season with a 1-0 defeat at play-off bound Stockport County on Saturday. But Scott has already begun preparing his side for a tilt at the top of League Two next year.

Scott said: "I think we have to be at the top end of the table challenging for promotion. We need to be more competitive and we should be challenging for the play-offs."

It is set to be a busy summer at Griffin Park and Scott has already told Simon Brown, Charlie Ide, Craig Pead and Lewis Dark they can leave on a free transfer.

The Bees have also lined up deals for two non-league youngsters. Moses Adamola, 18, is a striker from Croydon Athletic and has scored 19 goals this season. Sam Wood, 21, is a left winger from Bromley who has already played 150 games.

Scott said: "We feel the players can add competition to the squad. Sam has already had trials with Wolves and Charlton."
