RUISLIP Manor manager Michael Johnson remains hopeful his side will be able to complete their season.

The Spartan Premier outfit could be kicked out of the league if they do not find a chairman to lead them by Monday. Manor have already had two matches cancelled and their game against Beaconsfield scheduled for Saturday has been postponed while they search for a new committee. But failure to play their match at Biggleswade next Tuesday is likely to lead to their forced resignation from the league.

The club's future was cast into doubt after chairman Ken Barratt and his family walked out on the club earlier this month.

But Ruislip president John Barnett has promised to help pay for the running of the club until the end of the season.

The club's long term existence is also up in the air after Wealdstone purchased the Grosvenor Vale ground. From next season they will have to pay rent to Wealdstone to use it at a cost of £10,000 a year.

But Johnson said: "I am positive and live in hope we can finish the season. No one wants the club to be thrown out of the league but everyone knows you have to have a committee.

"I've spoken to the players and they just want to finish the season. Apparently a few people have come forward and I think it will be resolved.

"It is just about trying to find Ruislip people who know the area and want to keep the club going. It's not about the money."
