WELLING United are still in the dark after their grant application to build new floodlights was rejected.
The Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) have deemed the work as 'replacing' rather than 'improving' and so declined to help.
However, Wings club secretary Barry Hobbins appealed against the decision and the FSIF, part of the Football Foundation, have agreed to have a second inspection.
The floodlight in the south west corner of Park View Road came down in the storms before Christmas and worse was to follow when a structural engineer condemned all the floodlights in the old West Stand.
Since then, Welling have had to rearrange home fixtures and it has left them with a congested schedule of nine games in just under a month and playing evening games at Gravesend & Northfleet and Dartford.
