QUEENS Park Rangers chairman Gianni Paladini hinted that he would sack any of his players guilty of brawling with the Chinese Olympic team.

The fight caused the game at Rangers' training ground to be abandoned on Wednesday night after the Chinese under-23 star Zheng Tao was knocked out and left with two cracks to his jaw.

Paladini, who pledged to investigate the incident thoroughly, told reporters: "We will go to work 24 hours a day to find out what happened. We want the investigation to be done quickly.

"If anyone is found guilty, then there is no way we can be associated with anything like that. Violence does not solve a problem, and there is no place for it."

He said he was "sick with the whole thing", adding: "If people cannot control themselves they should not be there, in that position, because sooner or later something like that is going to happen again."

Chinese Olympic team manager Li Xiaoguang has insisted that he will take full responsibility for his side's part in the fracas.

He said: "I would like to make an official apology. Whatever the reasons for the incident, as the team manager, I will take the responsibility.

"We have noticed some of the young players can not control themselves well. But, although the participants in this incident were the players, I will take all the blame.

"The unexpected incident happened in any case and I will be conducting a serious inquiry into it. We have learnt a lesson from this incident."

China coach Ratomir Dujkovic admitted he didn't see how the incident began, but said: "Whether the local guys (QPR) or our guys began it is not important. It is unacceptable."

The Football Association is set to investigate the brawl, which involved 30 people.

Premiership official Dermot Gallagher was refereeing the match.

An FA spokesman said: "We are investigating and we will be seeking information from Dermot Gallagher."

Seven members of the China squad, who were preparing for next year's Olympic Games in Beijing, have been sent home following the incident.

They were due to remain in England for two weeks, based at Chelsea's training complex in Cobham, Surrey.

The team is scheduled to play Brentford on February 16.
