KENNY Jackett has dropped a hint Tamika Mkandawire could finally be edging closer to getting a loan move to improve his fitness.

The Millwall manager has made no secret of the fact he would like the midfielder to join a League One side on a temporary basis but as yet nothing has materialised.

Mkandawire has been an unused sub in Millwall’s last three games and his lack of first team action remains a concern, although the Den chief suggested this morning the loan could be set to happen within the next seven days.

Jackett said: “Tam has been a substitute but he is still available for loan because he needs to play after his injury.

“We are still looking for that loan to get match practice for Tam to then come back and do well for Millwall again.

“There is nothing close at the minute but we will see what develops over the next week.”
