Gaz loves it when a plan comes together

GARETH Ainsworth was delighted to see his tactical plan come off as Wanderers won at Fleetwood.

The Cod Army had lost just once in ten games until Blues arrived in Ainsworth's native Lancashire, with Wanderers securing a deserved win.

Bruno Andrade's early goal was enough to secure victory but the Blues' caretaker boss felt his side could have come away from Highbury with an even more convincing win than the 1-0 scoreline suggests.

He said: "To see the tactics come out was fantastic. We've worked on things in training and seeing the fruition out there is brilliant. We looked like we could have scored more.

"Danny Foster was an absolute leader at the back and in the middle Leon Johnson and Gary Doherty were total warriors today. They got their heads on everything, blocks on everything.

"Fleetwood gave us a bit of respect by changing a few times. Big men, small men, quick men - fair play to the boys, they dealt with everything."

He added: "We are a team now, we are together. We are compact, we are resilient and we can prove we can go and score goals with high paced attacks, which is fantastic to see.

"I'm not really surprised because I know what's inside the boys. It was just coaxing it out of them."
