Nyron Nosworthy played the full 90 minutes as Jamaica conceded a late goal to lose their World Cup qualifier 2-1 in Guatemala yesterday.

The Watford defender received a yellow card as his country recovered from going behind in the 16th minute to equalise through a Luton Shelton penalty 16 minutes into the second half.

However, Guatemala clinched the points by scoring the winner with five minutes remaining to put them on top of North, Central America and Caribbean Group A, level on points with USA and three clear of Jamaica after five matches.

Nosworthy and his international team-mates are back in qualifying action on Tuesday when they take on Antigua & Barbuda in Kingston.

Elsewhere, Matej Vydra was an unused substitute as the Czech Republic beat Malta 3-1.

The result leaves the Czechs third in Group B, three points behind leaders Italy but with a game in hand, going into Tuesday’s home encounter with second-placed Bulgaria.

Meanwhile, Tommie Hoban should again line-up for Republic of Ireland Under-19s this afternoon when they face Macedonia in their second Europan Championship qualifier in three days.

The young Watford defender skippered his country to a 5-2 victory over Luxembourg on Thursday, scoring the third goal in the 27th minute with a diving back-post header to convert a free-kick.
