Boss faces fight to play Fleetwood after Andrade stars
BRUNO Andrade could keep player-manager Gareth Ainsworth on the bench on Saturday after an excellent showing on his Wanderers debut.
The 19-year-old ran rings around the Portsmouth defence despite only having joined the rest of his team mates earlier in the day on a month's loan from QPR.
The Portuguese winger plays in the same position as Ainsworth and the Blues' caretaker boss joked: "He's up against it because I'm the manager as well."
Ainsworth said: "He's definitely an exciting prospect. He can start games, he can come on after 60 minutes and terrorise defences. He'll definitely be a good player at a top club one day.
"I know Bruno from when he was about 15 or 16 at QPR and I've always kept tabs on him.
"He's a great addition to the squad and I'm so pleased for him. He did really well."
Ainsworth was full of praise for Andrade's performance as he won the penalty that led to Blues' third goal in their 3-1 win over Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
He said: "That's his full debut tonight and I thought he was outstanding and managed to get the penalty.
"He's done a lot more work than he's used to because he attacks a lot but I made him do the nasty side, and he did it really well."
Andrade, who had a brief loan spell at Aldershot Town and also represented the Rs in a Premier League tie at Wigan last year, will stay at Adams Park for a month after agreeing to join Wanderers on a youth loan deal.
