Key points

  • Middlesbrough win 2-1 thanks to a goal on 77 minutes when Scott McDonald cut across the area and found the bottom corner with a low drive.
  • The Hornets spent the whole of the second half with ten men for the second game in a row after referee Steve Rushton believed Matej Vydra stamped on Nicky Bailey just before the break.
  • Watford had taken the lead after 28 seconds when Matej Vydra intercepted Andre Bikey's backpass and whilst his effort was saved, Troy Deeney scored in the empty net.
  • Middlesbrough were on the back foot for most of the opening half hour but equalised when Bikey won the initial header at a corner and Marvin Emnes applied the finish from close range.
  • Alex Geijo came off the bench for his Watford debut

Wonder if we will revert back to a 4-4-2 set up with Vydra coming in for Forestieri and maybe Ekstrand will start?
Geijo to appear from the bench :-)

I love Watford so much right now it hurts.

Even this season's kit looks better than any we've had for years.

You mighty yellows

It's hard not to love being a Watford fan right now, it's all exciting as we have a great squad with a top manager and sound owners!
Yep the kit is so much better in yellow and black!
I just hope we play well and get the 3 points today! Hopefully we will see the gates go up as we could really do with getting it up to 15,000 +

A pity Forestieri is suspended as a result of Tuesday. I know that Watford could not apeal the sending off as it was two yellow cards. However I understand the ref could have reviewed the second yellow.
In any event if Watford show the same determination as they did on Tuesday there is every chance of making it three wins in a row. However it shows the positive side of having a big squad so these things don't have as much impact as in previous seasons. COYH

I reckon we will win today against Boro. What about you guys? Can't see us getting beaten.

Nice to see 'the poll' shows that 90 percent of us think we wont lose. Boro got booed during the week for to much possesion and not enough end product. Should be an iteresting game. Just read a stat that says we've only kept 2 clean sheets at home in 11 months! Can't be true. 3-1 the Horns

Dangerous to think like that Frank, this league is so unpredictable! We should win considering our recent performances and the amount of injuries Boro have but you never know. One poor team is in for a battering from us and I hope today is the day!

It seemed to work last time u said that Frank.

2-0. Clean sheet at last. Am I too optimistic? Maybe it's the sunshine (& the druglike addiction I have to WFC. Going crazy. Need help. Ask Frank)

Geijo is on the bench but Battocchio isn't. I'm looking forward to seeing Geijo, he scored a lot of goals in Spanish football's second division so once he is fully fit, I expect him to start firing for Watford

42 players and none can score.Sorry but the blame lays with Zola.We keep seeing and reading about Yeates not a championship player, yet Zola keeps picking him WHY? Are most of the fans who scribe on this site about Yeates inabillity to play wrong? The Pozzos should consider Dyche before he is snapped up. A winning team brings in the fans.
