Blues boss praises sacked Brown

Terry Brown bids farewell to Wimbledon fans after his last game in charge on Tuesday Terry Brown bids farewell to Wimbledon fans after his last game in charge on Tuesday

BLUES boss Gary Waddock has paid tribute to the achievements of Terry Brown, who was sacked as AFC Wimbledon manager ahead of the Dons' Adams Park showdown.

Brown led them to three promotions during his five years in the hotseat, including taking the reformed Dons into the Football League against all the odds.

He was given the boot after Tuesday night's defeat to Torquay but is set to join supporters in the stands on Saturday.

And Waddock was full of praise for the job his predecessor at Aldershot Town had done with Wimbledon.

He said: "In the period of time he's been at Wimbledon as manager, he's been very successful.

"I spoke to him on Wednesday - he's not only a very good manager, he's a top bloke as well. I let him and his assistant Stuart Cash know they had done an excellent job at the club.

"I wanted to ring them up and remind them how well they have done for that football club and how proud they should be of what they have achieved.

"I'll look forward to seeing them Saturday and hopefully after the game we can have a nice conversation over half a lemonade."

With Brown's departure, and with Wimbledon having injury and suspension problems of their own, it looks an ideal time for Wanderers to face the Dons - but Waddock's having none of it.

He said: "I wouldn't say they are in disarray, I would say they are a very good club, they are well organised."

Move over Waddock, Terry Brown is looking for a job and would be a darn sight better that you are at the minute

Today's BFP poll is very telling - he must be on borrowed time now...

Clowns make you laugh, this bloke is enough to make you cry. the sooner he goes the better. The trust board should listen to the fans and make that decision before it is to late, otherwise you will see a decrease in the numbers attending matches at Adams Park, and at the moment the ground is barely a third full for home games and that includes the away team supporters.
