Truro City 0-1 Bromley

BROMLEY gained their third consecutive victory with a 1-0 success at financially troubled Truro City on Saturday.
Truro, who lost three players midweek and only named two substitutes, had little to offer whereas Bromley dominated without creating many clear cut chances.
Elliott Buchanan saw his eighth minute shot deflected before Ali Chaaban shot over from distance moments later.
Truro’s Kieffer Moore was just wide with a header in their first attack on 18 minutes while Pierre Joseph-Dubois was unlucky not to put the visitors ahead when his header from Michael Malcolm’s corner was inches wide.
Moses Swaibu headed over from another Malcolm corner and then Bromley were denied a penalty in the 37th minute when Chaaban was clearly bundled over in the area.
But 60 seconds later Bromley scored what proved to be the winning goal as Joseph-Dubois rose to head home Malcolm’s corner from the edge of the six-yard box.
After Sanchez Ming had shot wide from a good position, Truro might have equalised on the stroke of half-time. A corner on the left from Les Afful was headed against the bar by full-back Ben Williams with Bromley keeper Joe Welch well beaten.
The second half continued in similar fashion and Bromley pegged Truro back for long periods, but they were unable to capitalise on the situation with another goal.
Ming’s cross was narrowly wide of the far post and Albert Jarrett, who had just replaced Elliott Buchanan, was unlucky with his free-kick which evaded the defensive wall but went narrowly wide of the post.
Jarrett should have made the game safe in the 85th minute when he intercepted a back pass and rounded keeper Tim Sandercombe, only to somehow hit the bar with the goal at his mercy.
Truro battled hard in the closing minutes but could not penetrate a well organised Bromley defence.
All this may prove academic as Truro City appear in the High Court today to try to avoid a winding up order, in which case Bromley would have been the last team that they play.
The Lillywhites begin their FA Cup campaign at Sutton United on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
