Work starts on new Sarries pitch
Work on the artificial pitch at Saracens’ new Allianz Park home began on Monday as the community sports hub on the site continues to take shape.
With the East Stand continuing its development, the next two weeks will see the current turf removed before the artificial surface is put down, which will be available for professional rugby and the community.
The artificial turf will allow sport to be played throughout the year and will create a unique stadium which will see top class rugby to be played at the weekend before being used by the community on a Monday.
Allianz Park is due to host its first game on Saturday, February 16, 2013, when Exeter Chiefs become the inaugural visitors to Saracens’ new ground.
