Udinese confirm Italy Under-20 international Cristian Battocchio has joined Watford

Udinese have confirmed their midfielder Cristian Battocchio has joined Watford on loan .

The Watford Observer reported yesterday that Battocchio was set to join the club and that has now been confirmed on the Italian club's website.

Battoccio is a creative midfielder who was born in Argentina and reportedly trained with the Newell’s Old Boys' first team when he was just 14.

The 20-year-old left Old Boys at the age of 16 to join Udinese, where he has made nine appearances and came on as a substitute in Saturday's game with Fiorentina.

The midfielder, whose style of play has been compared to Andrea Pirlo in the past, is an Italy Under-20 international and has made three appearances for his adopted country.

Let's stop criticising our players. Yes Jenkins needs to drop down two leagues but I expect he will have a very good impact at that level, however let's be socialable as we don't want them all leaving hating us (ala Loach). We could've been in Admin and soon like Pompey and Jenkins would've been star man, so checks and balances please

The reason they are loans is because we don't have funds to buy or pay all wages (yet) but most of the loanee's are not expecting to go back to Udin and believe they are here to get us Up in next two years and stay

The new players start off in The Noke Thistle just off M25 between Watford and St Albans before they find suitable accommodation for rent. For example Abdi is now in an apartment in Garston with his girlfriend, Pudil and his girlfriend and v young son are in Radlett with Vydra living with them. If things work out, they have option to stay when no doubt they will buy a property here. Most of the new boys already know one another from Udin, so the fact there are so many already gives them a great network and not feel homesick etc. they also love being close to London, and being "foreign" they are unlikely to go out on the beers on a Friday night (like some of our own occasionally).
