Leyton Orient have confirmed Nathan Clarke as their new captain.
The experienced centre-back moved to the club this summer after leaving Huddersfield Town and he has been handed the role by boss Russell Slade.
Clarke captained the team during the 1-0 defeat at Luton Town in their latest friendly on Saturday.
Clarke said: “The ambition of the club convinced me to come here.
“I met the manager a few days after the end of the season and we had a really good chat about how he saw my role at the club. The excitement definitely drew me to making that decision."
Stephen Dawson and Matt Spring skippered the O's last season but both have since left Brisbane Road.
