Wasps under new ownership
STEVE Hayes is completing the sale of Wasps to a consortium headed by former player Ken Moss, after contracts were exchanged yesterday.
The developments were announced the same day as Hayes completed the sale of Wanderers to the Supporters Trust.
Hayes put Wasps up for sale last October and it was thought the club would be under new ownership by Christmas.
However, the process has taken much longer than expected and there was even a fear of the club going into administration before Moss expressed an interest.
A statement on the club's website said: "London Wasps are delighted to confirm that contracts have been exchanged on the sale of the Club to a new consortium headed up by former player Ken Moss, with full completion expected to take place in mid-July.
"Full details of the new ownership and future plans will be outlined once the deal is fully completed.
"The club’s priority is now on ensuring the deal is complete within this timeframe as well as finalising arrangements for the club’s future structure and operations."
