RELEASED Wanderers defender James Tunnicliffe has rejoined his first club Stockport County.
The 23-year-old was let go by Blues at the end of the season having struggled to make an impression after arriving from Brighton.
Despite scoring on his debut he made just 20 appearances for the relegated side and was sent out on loan to Crewe Alexandra, although injury curtailed his spell at Gresty Road.
Upon signing for the Railwaymen the Manchester-born central defender cited homesickness as a reason for moving away from Adams Park.
In the same interview he added he played the best football of his career while at Stockport, who has now agreed to re-sign for on a two year deal.
Tunnicliffe made 50 appearances for the Hatters in his first spell at Edgeley Park and was given trials by Liverpool and Southampton after making his first team debut aged 16.
