Did Baz save the club from administration? I thought the good Lord did that. Also he says he put millions into the club but surely he got that back ala Danny Graham, Will Buckley, Marvin Sordell, Ashley Young sell-on fee and the Saracens pay as you play even considering the annual loss the club makes. It seems the good Lord has saved us again by pushing through this sale without needing Baz.

Those of you who think that we will have pots of money to buy players need to calm down. From what the Udinese and Granada fans are saying it seems progression will be done on a budget with loan players in from the other two teams and jewels in the rough through their scounting network. There's reports of the Pozzos investing 20Mil Euros (I think), that's what, £16M? - So £7.5M to pay off the bond holders. The rest on the East stand and SW corner?

I think it would make sense to keep the continuity with SD as Manager. He's the architech of the "togetherness" that has seen us punch above our weight last season. Anyway, exciting times. COYH.
    well said Roger"

Pozzo family's takeover of Watford is 'imminent'

The Pozzo family's takeover of Watford is extremely close to completion, the Watford Observer understands.

A source close to negotiations refused to state a specific time frame, as there are still a few small details to iron out, but told us the takeover was "imminent".

Watford are set to join Italian club Udinese and Spanish side Granada in being owned by the Pozzo family.

The Pozzos have been interested in Watford for several months and current owner Laurence Bassini finally admitted he was looking to sell the club ten days ago, after denying the Italians' interest on several occasions previously.

It will be Giampaolo's son Gino who will run the club and has been the one involved directly in negotiations.

Former West Ham United chief executive Scott Duxbury has been part of the negotiating team working for the Pozzos and could become the Hornets' chief executive.

Ex-West Ham technical director Gianluca Nani is also expected to have a role at Watford.

Duxbury and Nani worked with former Chelsea forward Gianfranco Zola at Upton Park and we believe it is the Pozzos' intention to make Zola manager.
