New kick-off time for Watford's New Year's Day game with Charlton Athletic

Watford have announced their New Year's Day clash with newly-promoted Charlton Athletic has been brought forward to a 1pm kick off at Vicarage Road.

The game against Chris Powell's side was originally scheduled for 3pm but has been moved two hours following a police request.

Can someone explain to me why this happens every single year at Watford and not at other clubs?

Why do the police advise this?

What is so dangerous or difficult about Watford playing Charlton at 3 PM on New Year's Day?

What are their fears and justifications for making everyone get up two hours earlier when they may not be at home, or might be hungover, or have family to look after?

And is this the same police force who forgot to put a single copper inside Vicarage Road for that cup game against Luton?

Two hours less to recover from the hangover then.
