WANDERERS boss Gary Waddock is hoping to extend Louis Laing’s loan deal from Sunderland next week.
The 18-year-old’s deal expires after the home game against Yeovil on Valentine’s Day and Waddock hopes to persuade former Blues boss Martin O’Neill to let him keep him for longer.
He said: “We’re talking to Sunderland and Laingy as well. Hopefully we can keep him. He’s done well for us.”
Meanwhile Waddock insisted fellow central defender James Tunnicliffe still has a future at Adams Park after he moved to Crewe Alexandra on a month’s loan.
He said: “He needs games. He needs to play. His game was called off today as well, which was unfortunate for him.
“He’s a Wycombe player. He’s gone out to get some games and we’ll see how he does there during that month period.”
