BEXLEY District U13 girls’ indoor cricket team played an away match at Hayes CC at Hayes School on Saturday.
Although Bexley (223) lost to Hayes (292) by 69 runs, there were still some good performances against an older and stronger team.
The playing area was a little smaller than Bexley are used too and this allowed the fielders to crowd the bat a little more, producing more run outs and catches.
Bexley's team were made up of players from Bexley CC, Sidcup CC and schools in the borough.
These matches produce good match practice for the upcoming London Youth Games U13 competition and the Lady Taverners-Kent indoor U13 and U15 girls championships in which Bexley Grammar School, Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School and Townley Grammar School are all entering teams this winter.
