MOTOR dealer Beadles of Dartford has put a junior football club in top gear.

Not in the motoring sense, but the firm has kitted out Long Lane FC's Under 8s squad with a set of new tracksuits.

The club, which runs 21 teams at various ages from eight to veterans, currently plays its home matches at Kidbrooke Playing Fields with most of its members coming from the Bexleyheath, Welling and Eltham areas.

The club is currently trying to secure a National Lottery grant to upgrade facilities at their ground

Tim Collier, the firm's general service manager, said: "The is the first time we have become involved with football sponsorship, but we see it as the start of a likely ongoing promotional deal.

"It gives the players something to be proud off and, of course, advertises our name at the same time."
