SWIMMING
YOUNGSTERS of the London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club all hit their targets in the first major event of the new season.
The club swimmers are currently under intense work and used the Crawley Level One gala meet as a focus to get used to racing again.
Even though the swimmers were expected to swim outside of their lifetime bests, many achieved best times.
Charlie Dentith swam to a 22-second PB in the 1,500 free, which should qualify him for the 800 and 1,500m at next year’s national championships.
Phoebe Hayes also swam really well in the 100m, 200m and 400m free, swims that could also qualify her for the national championships.
LBRSC members Eleanor Bedwell, Emily Cole, Sophie Copper, Hayley Golightly, Georgia Hunton-Clarke, Anna Keble, Jessica Lambert, Johanna Lindblom, Sadie Lucas, Kelsey Richards, Lucy Warner, Grace Wingrove, Tom Beadle, Lewis Archer Defreitas, Alex Hayman, Ben Hollis, Chris Inch, Samuel Kelly, Frank McGuirk, Craig Moate, Jessica Skeete Cross all swam really well.
