SWIMMING
EIGHT swimmers from the London Borough of Redbridge Swimming team will be competing at the National Championships this month.
Chris Inch, currently ranked in the top ten in a number of events, will compete in the 100m, 200m fly, 200m back, 200m, 400m free, 200m and 400IM. The 15-year-old also achieved the 800m free qualifying time.
Charlie Dentith, 13, also ranked in the top ten in the 400IM, 800m and 1500m free, will compete in those events at the championships and also in the 200m and 400m free.
Lawrence Brown will compete in his first National championships. The 12-year-old will swim in the 200m, 400m and 1500m free. He is currently ranked tenth in the 400m event.
Phoebe Hayes will compete in the 200m back, 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m free. Like Brown, 16-year-old Hayes is ranked tenth in the 400m event.
Georgia Hunton Clarke, 17, will be swimming the 100m and 200m back, while 13-year-old Sophie Copper will compete in the 200m back, and Reece Barclay will compete in the 50m and 100m free.
Craig Moate will compete in the National Disability Championships and will be swimming the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m free and 50m and 200m fly.
After the nationals, Moate will be competing in the European Championships defending his 800m and 1500m titles and aiming to break the 400m free world record and better his own 800m and 1500m world records.
