Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has signed a new three-year contract with the Hornets.
The Brazilian joined the Golden Boys last summer on an initial one-year deal but has penned a new contract which will keep him at Vicarage Road until 2018.
Gomes arrived at Watford following his release from Tottenham Hotspur. He made 44 appearances this season as the Hornets were promoted to the Premier League.
The former Brazilian international impressed during his debut campaign and finished second in the running for the Watford Player of the Season award.
His agent, Alexandre Soares took to social networking website Instagram to announce the Brazilian will remain at Vicarage Road.
He wrote: Congratulations @hdgomes !! New deal! Thank you Gino and Watford FC! #watfordfc #watford #epl#atletavelop4"
Watford have since confirmed the deal and, speaking to the club website, Gomes explained why he chose to remain with the Golden Boys.
He said: “When you have the respect of the people and the fans it is great to be around. That is why I want to stay here for a long time.
“I believe if you feel good then you should continue where you feel good. And I am feeling very good here.”
