It is believed the problems with the PA system at Vicarage Road on Saturday were down to the communication system used by Birmingham City, the Watford Observer understands.
Loud and unpleasant crackling sounds were played through the speakers in the stadium on a number of occasions between kick-off and the beginning of the second half.
Like many clubs, the Blues had staff in the Sir Elton John Stand communicating with their coaches on the bench and we understand the radio frequency of the equipment used was the reason for the noises.
Watford refused to discuss specifics relating to Saturday but did confirm they were “taking measures to ensure all non-regular matchday equipment is suitably prepared” in the future.
