Emily Iley claimed four wins for the Borough of Waltham Forest Swimming Club Gators at the Essex Age Group Championships, with the club picking up numerous victories.

First-place finishes in the 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley, 100m butterfly and 200m backstroke saw Iley lead the way for the Gators, whilst also scooping a second-place finish in the 50m freestyle at Basildon Sporting Village.

Amrita Robertson was also a winner in the 200m freestyle, whilst Phoebe Griffiths took second place in the 200m freestyle. Holly Taylor won the 200m freestyle for 16 year olds and was second in the 200m breaststroke and third in the 100m breaststroke.

There was a team silver for the nine to ten-year-old 200m freestyle team, which consisted of Amy Allison, Stephanie Pagan, Ella Pemberton and Neha Pillai.

Chairman Hannah Grimshaw said: “It has been another wonderful, competitive weekend for the Gators swimmers. We are extremely proud of all their achievements and we are looking forward to two further weekends at the Essex Championships.”

These will take place in Southend this weekend and the final weekend will return to Basildon on February 14 and 15.
