A martial arts instructor has become one of the highest graded martial artists in Essex.
Matthew Chapman, 38, of Masters Academy, Loughton, recently received his 6th degree black belt in Filipino Kickboxing after 25 years of training.
The instructor, who was awarded his first black belt in 1993, is also the published author of three books and won the British Welterweight Title in MMA in 2006.
Chapman’s new title means he has attained his Masters level and is one of the highest graded martial artists in the county.
He said: “I didn’t think I would ever get here, kickboxing is not an easy sport but after a lot of persistence, here I am.
“I feel super happy that I have attained masters level after 25 years of non-stop training, I am really happy.”
