Waltham Abbey surrendered their 100 per cent record at Thamesmead Town and slipped off the top of the Ryman North table in the process.

The Abbey had won their opening three games of the league season but were undone on Tuesday night and were beaten 2-0 at Thamesmead.

Tyrus Gordon-Young put the home side ahead five minutes before the break and with 21 minutes remaining, Ashley Probet doubled Town’s lead to secure the points.

On Saturday, the Abbey defeated Romford 2-1 with two goals in 60 seconds turning the game on its head.

Romford were in front five minutes into the second half when Ryan Imbert netted.

However, goals in the 84th and 85th minutes from James Peagram and Ben Bradbury completed an unlikely comeback for the hosts.

Redbridge secured their first win of the new season on Tuesday evening as they defeated ten-man Burnham Ramblers in a seven-goal thriller.

Ahead early through Adam Scott and Daniel Charge, the Motormen were pegged back by a Liam Burgess penalty.

Redbridge’s Mark Nougher and Burnham’s Burgess then scored within 60 seconds of one another to make it 3-2 to Dave Ross’ side.

Patrick Damali extended Redbridge’s lead in the 64th minute before Isaac Aubynn netted a consolation goal in the 90th minute.

Three days earlier, the Motormen had been well beaten at Dereham Town, going down 4-0.

Luke Tuttle scored twice while Ryan Hawkins and Toby Hilliard also got amongst the goals for Dereham.

Waltham Forest have been knocked out of two cup competitions this week, exiting the Gordon Brasted Trophy in extra-time against Barking on Tuesday.

George Shelvey put visitors Barking ahead before Ferrari-Hallowell equalised to force extra-time. Shelvey then struck again in the second period to dump the Stags out.

Forest’s FA Cup hopes ended on Saturday, with a 2-1 home reverse against Hoddesdon Town in the extra preliminary round.

Ahead through Tyriquee Solomon, Lorenzo Scibelli levelled for Hoddesdon before Junior Adeoye sent the visitors through in the first minute of added time.
