Watford defender Essaïd Belkalem was an unused substitute in Algeria's opening World Cup game as they lost 2-1 to Belgium in Group H.
Algeria took the lead through Sofiane Feghouli's penalty midway through the first half before Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini equalised with a looping header on 70 minutes and Dries Mertens scored the winner with ten minutes remaining.
Algeria's second Group H game is against South Korea on Sunday at 8pm and they then face Russia on Thursday, June 26 at 9pm.
