The Rasunda Stadium in Stockholm was the venue of England's final game in the 1992 European Championships.
With England behind and needing to score, manager Graham Taylor substituted Gary Lineker who was chasing Bobby Charlton's national goalscoring record but had made little impact in the tournament.
Replacement Alan Smith came close to scoring but England went out and Taylor was pilloried for the decision to replace Lineker.
The incident would resurface seven years later as Taylor took Watford back into the top flight and Lineker, by then an established BBC presenter, aimed frequent criticisms at his former international manager.
