England played West Germany in a friendly tournament fixture in the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

In coming on for Gary Lineker, Watford's John Barnes won his 22nd international cap and in so doing broke Gerry Armstrong's club record.

Barnes currently shares this record with Welshman Kenny Jackett; both won 31 caps for their country whilst on the books at Vicarage Road.

England won this game 3-0 with controversial future Watford flop Kerry Dixon scoring twice.

Still think Liverpool got Barnesy on the cheap- £900,000 I think-
Considering what Real Madrid paid for Bale, young Digger would be at least twice that today

What k*ob gave me a neg score?

How very dare you.

Have you not heard of irony and if you have he does not play for Watford by the way.

Let me spell it out for you - no mention of his playing for Liverpool as they choose to forget he played for Watford.
