Gary Johnson has confirmed that Marek Stech has rejected the offer of new contract at Yeovil Town amid claims the Czech Republic international goalkeeper is “poised” to join Watford.

As we reported yesterday, the Hornets are understood to have made a move for the 24-year-old and the Glovers boss has told the Western Gazette that Stech, along with Byron Webster and Luke Ayling, have turned down the opportunity to remain at Huish Park.

“We’ve heard from all and near enough all of them have said they won’t be returning,” Johnson said. “They’ve all turned down the contracts offered, but that’s a matter of course anyway.

“We’ve tried to speak to either them or their agents and they won’t be coming back to Yeovil so we’ve got to not have them in our thoughts and look to the next ones that we can give an opportunity to look to.”
