Hornets goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was an unused substitute for England Under-21s who are on the brink of qualifying for the 2015 European Championships after defeating Wales 3-1.
The Watford Academy graduate, who celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday, watched on from the substitute’s bench as a Nathan Redmond hat-trick secured the Young Lions’ victory.
The result means if Moldova fail to win in Finland on June 1 then England, who currently have a nine point lead at the top of Group One, will advance.
