GARETH Ainsworth's attention this week now turns to assembling his Wycombe Wanderers squad for next season.

After the euphoria of Blues' dramatic last day escape comes the reality of getting back to the daily grind for Ainsworth.

He's expecting to sit down with his out-of-contract players this week with a view to either persuading them to stay or showing them the exit.

The Blues boss said after Saturday's incredible survival at Torquay: "Preparations for next season will probably start midweek sometime.

"I want to get stuck into it next week. I have to start planning - we don't want to be behind anyone.

"We've got a lot of players out of contract but we've got a lot of warriors in the team and I'm looking forward to working with a few of those players, bringing a few in as well and see where we can finish next season."

Josh Scowen - who turned down a deadline day loan move away from the club - highly-rated goalkeeper Matt Ingram, top scorer Matt McClure, Paris Cowan-Hall and Max Kretzschmar are the only players definitely signed on for next season.

Defender Tommy Fletcher signed a one year deal with an option for a second when he joined the club last summer.
