Joel Ekstrand and Marco Cassetti are available for Watford's game against Huddersfield Town but the Hornets are set to be without seven players

Joel Ekstrand and Marco Cassetti are available for Watford’s clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday but the Hornets look set to go into their last match of the season without seven players.

Swedish international Ekstrand missed the midweek loss at Charlton Athletic due to an ankle injury but he is set to return for the Golden Boys' final Championship fixture of the campaign.

Cassetti was also absent for Tuesday’s defeat but he is back in contention after serving a one-match suspension.

However, Almen Abdi (knee) will miss the game while Lewis McGugan also has a knee problem and is ruled out.

Manuel Alumina (Achilles) and Davide Faraoni (hip) are sidelined while Fernando Forestieri and Chu-Young Park (both toe) are long term absentees.

Albert Riera was sent off against Charlton and he is suspended for Saturday’s game.

Both sides have little to play for at Vicarage Road and Hornets head coach Beppe Sannino was asked if he would use the match as a chance to field younger players, such as striker Alex Jakubiak.

The Italian said he is likely to make a few surprise selections but when pressed further, replied: “If I say, it’s not a surprise.”

The end of season game is normally an opportunity to thank the players for their efforts over the season.
Doesn't sound like there will be many of them there to thank on Saturday.
Here's to a better season for 2014/15.

Yeah not much to thank them for this season. I won't be hanging around at the end of the game.

'Clear the manager'. Are you for real? Sannino has made amazing progress in haf a season in England. We may have lost some vital games at times and made some stupid mistakes but I think you are being far too harsh!

No change in mid-table position. Possibly some improvement at home but just one away win and a disgraceful disciplinary record. Lack of passion evident in the team's performances leads to questions of motivation. Perhaps our expectations are too high but I don't think he can deliver what we need.

I agree - Yes, it's been a disappointing season but I will be there Saturday, and I will cheer them at the end. Deeney has had a great season, Angella is just marvellous, Fessi has been brilliant when he's not been injured, Faraoni has come on nicely, Battochio works tirelessly, etc, etc.

Also, it might be last time we see Cassetti and Almunia, and whatever some have said this season, both have been great for us and deserve a decent send off. I am not one to moan about 'plastic' fans normally but if you can't be bothered to cheer them, then don't bother going!

To me this sums up his and a lot of other players' seasons, heart not in it ...

I think there are too many supporters who have forgotten who we are and think we have a right to be a top 6 club, stating we have had a disappointing season, it was only a couple of years ago most of us would be happy just to stay in this division each season. We have fantastic owners who are going about things in the correct way, investing in the stadium and training pitch in particular, putting us on a sound financial footing whilst bringing players to the club we could only have dreamed of previously, plus attendances are on the rise so something must be going right! I just think we need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, the building blocks are being put in place for a successful and sustainable future. It's only a matter of time and we'll be up in the promised land.

They will be there and hopefully join the players on the pitch.

I will be saying my goodbyes and thanks to Troy. I wish him well and hope we use the £6m (?) wisely.

well reasoned comments there, but I am still unsure about this Manager and
honestly do not think he will lead us to our "promised land"
and finally sort out the recruitment policy, or lack of it!

That's not Bepe's responsibility, it is the owners with Mr Nani

It does not take a rocket scientist to work out that Troy is playing his last game tomorrow.

Jesus the happy clappers are out in force today
Beppe hads done well blah blah
We would have been lucky to stay in the division a few years ago blah blah

Beppe has finished what? 12th Zola was 11th when he went. Progress? Er? What?
A few years ago we didn't have millions of pounds worth of playing talent given to us for £1 by our very generous owners other teams
This season has been shocking probably the worst since boothryd has his meltdown
Thing with football fans they are far to loyal... Kind of like a mum telling her child of course they are good looking even though they look like sloth from the goonies
I wait for the inevitable record breaking thumbs down
