Albert Riera has been charged by the FA with improper conduct during Watford's 3-1 defeat at Charlton on Tuesday evening.

The Spaniard was dismissed in the 81st minute after collecting two bookings and it is alleged his behaviour following the incident amounts to improper conduct.

In being sent off at The Valley, Riera became the sixth Hornet to see red in Beppe Sannino's 28 games in charge this season.

Riera has until 6pm on May 6 to respond to the charge.

The fa want to have a look at themselves , they book and send us off for the smallest on incidents , Farinoi gets kick to shreds in games and never gets anything , fessi is the same , it's a disgrace and Watford should write to the fa about all these incidents

The referee totally overreacted with the incident. he saw the foul, went to walk away and then changed his mind when he saw it was Riera who had commited the foul. If Riera wasn't already on a yellow, we wouldn't have even got booked for it. Typical Championship ref!

Maybe it was the beer before the game but am I the only one that was surprised he hadn't already been sent off by that point? IIRC escaped a yellow in the first half, finally got one in the second and then made a few niggly fouls before the high boot.

Conduct afterwards was despicable.

I was surprised he stayed on the pitch as long as he did, he elbowed one of their players in the face in an off the ball incident that neither the referee or linesman saw during the first half and continued making stupid fouls throughout the game. As a player he is really talented but seems to have anger management issues which he needs to sort out otherwise he'll be a liability.

Not available and this is an additional matter.

The case for the defence in mitigation only is that Poyet over egged the incident and that none of his team mates jostled Riera afterwards said it all.

We need to stamp out players who cannot control themselves. 96 bookings is simply shocking and with 6 sent off another charge may be on the way.

He stayed on and continued to argue with the player fouled as well as the ref.. I'm sure a three game ban will come his way.. He did also contribute to a bit of a puch bust up.. No so bad.. Deeney and himself really with 4 or 5 Charlton players.. FA dont like players sent off not leaving the pitch quickly....

Ok sometimes we may have some unlucky bookings but I have never seen a Watford side before giving away endless free kicks in danger areas and mainly in totally unnecessary circumstances. They may not always look that bad but the statistics tell refs and the rest of the football world that we are an aggressive side. If only that aggression had channelled itself in the right direction we might have had a good season.

Riera deserved to be sent off and because of his tantrum and not going straight off he deserves to be charged by the FA.

Beppe please sort out our discipline for next season.

I hope we don't appeal as that would send out a message in itself. For what it's worth I thought it looked a very poor, high challenge although there's no question that Poyet overdid the rolling around. But regardless of the referee's decision you simply can't react as he did. Probably his last act for the club anyway.
