Ryan FC's Under-21s won the Denny King Cup Final against Hutton on penalties last Tuesday.
It was Hutton who drew first blood, taking the lead from the penalty spot before the break.
Ryan put in an improved showing after the break and in the 86th minute, dug out an equaliser through Joe Gent.
With the score 1-1 at full-time, the game proceded to extra time, but neither side could find a winner with both goalkeeper excelling.
Penalties followed, with Ryan emerging 4-2 victors.
Gent, Harry Gosting, Ryan Williams and Joseph Wright were the Ryan penalty scorers, with Hutton missing two of their four kicks.
Coach Paul Dudley said of the win: "It's the old cliche, but it was a game of two halves. The first 35 minutes were theirs and they took control, but after the break we were much better and got our equaliser."
Dudley also revealed that the side had not practiced spot-kicks in the lead-up to the final.
Just four days later Ryan were able to continue their charge towards the title, beating LOASS 3-2 with goals from Harry Gostling, Bradley Harris and Nuno Teixeria.
The win leaves Ryan 11 points ahead of second-place Upminster, who have played a game more.
